Sledding Fun in Gerlos

Sled Run: Gerlosstein - Zillertal

The sled run on the Hainzenberg is great fun. The Gerlosstein is actually the longest natural sledding hill in all of Zillertal, taking you on a downhill ride of 7 km. And 2 traditional Tyrolean inns along the way invite you to stop in for refreshments.

And best of all - you can also enjoy night tobogganing, since this hill is lit up until 1 a.m. The top of the run is at 1650 m above sea level, right by the mountain lift station of the Gerlossteinbahn. And sleds are also available to rent right there.

Sledding in Wald/Königsleiten

In Königsleiten there are 2 smaller sledding hills, ideally suited for children. The small sled run by the Finkenhof (ca. 0.5 km) drops gently, making it perfect for smaller children; the joy of tobogganing with no major dangers. In the evening, parts of the hill are also lit up. And for a very special experience, be sure to try Moonlight Sledding (every Wednesday), including a pleasant break for refreshments.

There is also another, newly built sled run in Königsleiten. Almost 1 km long, it begins behind Hotel Urpsrung and drops down to the B 165, also known as the "Alte Gerlosstrasse". Sleds and small bobs can be rented at area sporting goods stores.

Krimml/Hochkrimml

Here in Krimml is an approximately 2.2 km long, natural sled run, also floodlit daily until 10:30 p.m. The run begins at the Schönmoosalm and drops all the way to the town center. Important: This is a challenging sledding hill and not suitable for beginners or small children. Refreshment and rental opportunities are available.
